Find Your Baseline and Boundaries

Find Your Baseline and Boundaries

When we move forward in the world in action of service knowing our baseline and boundaries is crucial to our ability to come back to center and be able to clearly decide how to move forward.

  • What’s baseline?

    • It’s individual to you

    • Feeling- centered, grounded, capable

    • You’re 100% going to be thrown off baseline- nothing has gone wrong

    • The key is to be able to get back to baseline

    • Ways to get back to baseline: nature, breath, movement, community, coaching, self-coaching, the model- episode 30

  • What are your boundaries?

    • Define boundaries: a set description of what we will do when something happens. It’s a way of protecting yourself ahead of time.

    • “If I feel unsafe, I will step away/speak-up/come back to self-soothing”

    • “If i feel defensive, I will put my phone away”

    • “If I feel disrespected, I will excuse myself”

    • “If I’m expected to do more than I committed to, I will say no”

    • “If I am physically assaulted, I will stop volunteering”

    • your boundaries are your responsibility to hold and follow, not someone else’s

To commit to growth, and to commit to action it’s imperative that we know how to come back to our baseline and boundaries

Continued self-check in: What do I need to remember/know right now? How am I? How do I want to show up?
